KCC’s Open Educational Resources Initiative’s Mission

The Kingsborough Community College OER Initiative is a collaborative effort between the Office of Academic Affairs, Kingsborough Library, Kingsborough Center for Teaching and Learning (KCTL) and Kingsborough Center for e-Learning (KCeL) to support faculty in the development and implementation of OERs in a variety of courses. KCC's work as an Achieving the Dream Leader College has created a campus community focused on student success and increasing access to higher education. OERs are an integral part of this work. Faculty will be supported by KCC/CUNY workshops, professional development offerings, and technical support through KCTL and KCeL.

This Initiative is committed to:

  • Support faculty in the development of affordable zero to low cost course materials.
  • Expand access and awareness of Open Educational Resources.
  • Improve student success.
  • Increase student access to learning materials access - promote equity (aligns with our AtD work).

Let us know about OERs that you have developed or adopted in your course!.
