Information for contacting librarians and using the library.

FAQ

Is the library open?

  • Answer- No, the library is closed until further notice

How do I get research help?

  • Answer- Your librarians are available through email or you can email Reference.desk@kbcc.cuny.edu or call (718) 368-5632. Library reference service is available on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 6 PM; Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 7 PM; Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM; and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM.

What should I do if I can't access my textbooks?

  • Answer- Contact your professor immediately for options to access your textbook.

How do I use the library's databases?

What happens to books I have already checked out?

  • Answer- All books are automatically being renewed. Any fines acquired during this time will be waived. Don't Worry!  Also, please ignore any system-generated emails that list the books you have borrowed.  When the library reopens, you can return your books and will not be charged any late fees.

Can I return books?

  • You may hang on to library books until the library reopens (see above).  Alternatively, you can return your books to public safety at the main entrance to campus and they will provide you with a receipt. Unfortunately, this is only for KCC students and not for students enrolled in other CUNY colleges.

Can I use interlibrary loan right now?

  • Answer- Interlibrary Loan is not accessible at the moment. Please stay tuned as this develops over time.
