Finding Plays

A guide to finding plays in the Kingsborough library.

It may sound low-tech, but going upstairs and browsing the shelves is another great way to find plays. Plays are located on the 7th floor of the library. (Musicals, on the other hand, are mostly on the sixth floor.) Plays are in the literature section of the library and are categorized according to the nationality of the playwright. For recent works, you'll find quite a few under the American section (call numbers beginning with PS). 

Just keep in mind that the plays will be mixed in with other types of literature (such as novels and short stories) if you want to go upstairs and browse. The following call numbers give you a general sense of where to go, and you'll find more specific recommendations below.
