Art: Books and eBooks

You can find books and ebooks using OneSearch. If you know specifically what you need, search by author, by title or by subject. If you have only a general idea about what you are looking for, your best bet is to search across "All Fields".

You will find that when you use different keywords, you will get different results. Think about alternate ways of saying the same thing. If you phrase your search differently, you might get new, helpful results that you had not seen initially.

If you are not getting any results, use fewer, more general keywords.

If you are getting too many results, use more keywords that are more specific.

If you are having trouble getting what you need, ask a librarian!

If the book you are looking for is at another CUNY school, you can have it delivered to the Kingsborough Library using a system called CLICS:

• if you are looking at the book's record in the catalog, look for the button that says "Request this Copy".
• if you are looking at the book's record in OneSearch, look for the button that says "Request".
• you will need to provide the barcode number that is found on your ID card. It is the 14-digit number by the barcode.
• Your book will get here in a few days.
• This service is free.

If CUNY doesn't have the book anywhere, you can order it by Inter-Library Loan.

• You will need to sign up for an Inter-Library Loan (ILLiad) account.
• Depending on how far the book has to travel, it can take some time for the book to arrive at Kingsborough.
• This service is free.

Kingsborough Library's regular books are located on the 5th to 8th floors of the library. 

• Call numbers starting with A, B, C, D, E, F and G are on the 5th floor
• Call numbers starting with H, J, K, L, M and N are on the 6th floor
• Call numbers starting with P are on the 7th floor
• Call numbers starting with Q, R, S, T, U, V and Z are on the 8th floor

Keep in mind that most books on art are in the N section!
