Welcome ENG 24 Students
This guide is an easy access resource of different Digital Archives that you can search to find the object you want to write about for your Exhibit assignment. Below are some tips on how to search
How to search a Digital Archive database:
- Before starting your search, make sure to think of a few ideas of things you are interested in
- Once you have an idea about what you want to look for, write a couple of key words to describe that idea.
- i.e. I want to search for things in the American Revolution, I would use keywords like "George Washington" "Benjamin Franklin" King George III" "Continental Army"
- Once you have keywords written down, type them into the search bar, make sure to put them within quotation marks. i.e. "American Revolution"
- If nothing yields do not give up!! If you don't have a topic that's okay!, many times digital archive will have a browsing function so you can search general collections for objects that sound interesting to you!
