This LibGuide provides information about library materials on the topics of mental health and wellness. It also includes resources available at KCC, including resources available online and support for when in crisis. Resources for faculty included.

This guide gathers Health & Wellness resources available from the Kingsborough Community, the Kingsborough Library, and local and national government.

Kingsborough Community College Resources & Services

Access Resource Center

  • One-stop place to get connected to government benefits and resources. Whether it’s childcare, SNAP, clothing, or transportation, you can get a referral for what’s available to you – where you live and when you need it.

Counseling Center 

  • The Counseling Center at Kingsborough Community College offers free and confidential mental health counseling services to all currently enrolled students. Our services are available both virtually and in person. To reach a counselor or make an appointment for therapy, call 718-368-5975 or email Counseling.Center@kbcc.cuny.edu. Monday to Wednesday, 9 am -5:30 pm* Thursday and Friday, 9 am – 5:00 pm. Consultations and sessions after 5 pm from Monday to Wednesday are only available virtually. Appointments are required for all individual counseling sessions. For more immediate assistance, walk-in crisis interventions for students in distress and consultations for faculty and staff are also available.

Men's Center, Mentoring

  • College mentors work one on one with mentees to manage the academic challenges financial aid issues and social aspects of the college experience.

Women's Center

  • The Women's Center continues to provide free and confidential counseling services to students in need. Phone:  718-368-4700  

Workshops

  • Student Wellness Services offers by request workshops to help students address stress and anxiety, self-care, resiliency, learn about college and community resources, and more. All requests must be submitted at least three (3) weeks in advance of the date of the workshop. Please note that you can request up to two (2) workshops per class per semester, but they are not necessarily guaranteed. You must fill out one form for each request and first-time requests will be prioritized. Student Wellness Services

  • CUNY is partnering with Togetherall, an online community is clinically moderated by mental health professionals, to offer students a safe and anonymous place to express their thoughts, concerns, and triumphs. Resources are free for students to use 24/7/365. Students can draw strength and insights from peers who have real lived experiences and access a range of self-directed, clinically validated tools to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. Togetherall integrates with CUNY’s existing campus counseling services and after-hours resources. Togetherall is free to CUNY students. Sign up with your academic email.
