LGBTQ+ History

Welcome

Welcome KCC students and faculty!

In this guide you will find resources that center the histories and contributions of LGBTQ+ persons. The publications featured in this collection highlight the thousands of resources the library has in its print, ebook, and journal collections and cover such topics as:

  • LGBTQ+ oral histories
  • Famous speeches and essays
  • Gay liberation and similar social movements
  • The development of LGBTQ+ communities and spaces.

The "Title Spotlight" below previews the more than 50 print and ebook titles featured in the guide. Selecting the tabs to the left will take you to the full list of books.  The tabs will also take you to a list of related databases and journals, as well as a list of online primary source collections and resources (see "additional resources").

Looking for a particular resource?  You can find additional materials (including newspaper articles) by conducting a search in CUNY Onesearch and/or searching the library’s databases.
